A Colorful Santo in Perfect Shape!

This is a Vintage early-20th century (1920's) handcarved wood and bell shaped statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the Philippines. Indigenous provenance is probably Panay islands. Notice the polychrome painting in various colors produce an upbeat effect similar to modern South American carvings. Carved out of heavy type of wood with a few woodworm holes (wood worms no longer present). It stands 11" H x 5 1/2" W x 2 1/2" D and weights 1 lbs/4oz. It is in excellent condition for its age with minimal paint loss and no missing parts.
