Beautiful Patina and Paint!
This is an antique (late 18th-early 19th century) wood nicho, niche, altar or escaparate (saint house). Heavily painted with polychrome, constructed of very heavy and old wood (exceeds 5 pound limit on my postal scale approx 6 lbs.). Some parts like the back is a solid 3/4" thick and the rest are 1/2" thick wood slabs. It is made to last forever not having been infected with worms or any type of rotting. It is simple in design and will house up to a 12" high santo. Very difficult to find a nicho of this type and quality.
Measurements: 17"H (base to tip of carved design) x 12"W x 7"D
