This is a 19th century hand carved wood and polychrome painted over gesso base or pedestal or "Peana (spanish) for a saint. It will display a LARGE saint and will enhance its beauty and value. Many antique saints have lost their bases and this will be an excellent replacement providing it matches the saints' color scheme. It has a hole at the top center where a dowel used to attach a saint. It has lost some of its original polychrome, but the rest is stable and well adhered. Very beautiful aging encrusted with shiny patina, solid wood no nail construction and dovetail corner attachment. Color schemes are of brown, gold and green. It is 5" high X 10.5" wide X 8.5" deep and weighs 2 lbs, 3.5oz.

Last picture shows a Cristo del Mundo displayed on the base for illustration only. Cristo del Mundo is not included in this sale but is for sale separately.
