Santo Nino de Atocha, Mexican 19th Century This is a 19th century carved wood, gessoed and polychrome painted Santo Nino de Atocha from Mexico. Painted in encarnada style and shiny patina with beautiful inset reverse painted glass eyes. Comes from an estate in from Miami, Florida. Old repair on left arm and left foot. It is difficult to find an authentic 19th century Nino de Atocha like this one and rarer to find one that has complete attributes with it. The Nino will be seen held by the Nuestra Senora de Atocha or like this one may be sitting on a chair holding a stick with a water jug and a food basket on the other hand. Decorations on base is 19th century gold metallic thread embroidery over silk fabric. We have several Santo Nino de Atocha for sale (see SKU# 2016128).
