Madonna and Child, 19th C., Ecuador

This is an exquisitely hand carved wood Ecuadoran “Virgen del Rosario” or Madonna and Child Jesus made in the 19th century. It was part of the estate of an art collector from Milwaukee, WI. Note the overflowing garment in deep blue and purple and floral design in gold. Minor chipping on the veil as shown in picture no.5 and finger repairs as shown in picture no.1. Excellent color retention over the years and very minimal paint loss. Overall condition is superb.
