This is a LARGE tableau of the Holy Family (Jesus, Mary and Joseph) or Sagrada Familia carved during the early 20th century.  Provenance is Filipino carved in the southern region of Visayas. This piece remained stored for 40 years as related by the original owner so that there is very little damage to the paint except for the natural crackling. The piece has a wonderful array of lively colors and floral designs on base and Mary's robe. The piece is almost complete except for the ieft hand of Saint Joseph which is missing. They may originally have had halos. Figures are attached to the base with wood dowels and nails. Wood type used is yellowish and moderately heavy probably the native "Batikuling". For price comparison with similar items at auction sites. A smaller version of a replica is asking for $550. Another smaller version is partially antique (meaning some parts are new replacements) is asking for $500. Our pricing for this piece and most of our pieces are unmatchable.
