This is an early 19th century simple hexagonal santos base made from indigenous Philippine hardwood called Molave. It is a very dense and heavy wood found very suitable by the saint makers to carve their santos because of its longevity and resistance to wood pests. These type of bases are used to adorn the more primitive type santos normally found in home altars. Santos figure in the second picture is for illustration only and is NOT included in the sale.

Dimensions: 2.5” high X 7.75” wide X 5.75” deep. Upper base is 5.5” X 4.5” (long ends).
