This is an 19th century Portuguese Colonial carved wood saint figure of San Antonio de Padua or St. Anthony provenance from Brazil. As can be expected from a piece this age has paint losses and overpaint (old restoration) but paint is intact and well adhered. The piece is covered with dark patina but colors are still vivid. There is a hook attached on his back. He has a hole on top of his head where his resplandor or aura is attached. The aura is made of unknown metal (1.5” h x 1.7” w). He is missing his right hand and the Christ Child sitting on the bible he is holding wih his left hand.
